Man Robs Store At Gunpoint In Canton

The armed robbery was reported late Monday at Chevron on Marietta Road, Canton police said.

CANTON, GA — The Canton Police Department is on the hunt for a man accused of robbing a store at gunpoint late Monday. Officers were dispatched to a panic alarm around 11 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at Chevron at 370 Marietta Road.

An employee told police that a man armed with a firearm entered the store and demanded money. The accused robber leaped over the counter and went into a back room. After exiting the backroom with an undetermined amount of cash, he left the store on foot towards Marietta Road, Canton police said on its Facebook page.

Officers arrived at the scene of the incident and canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the man in question. Canton police say the accused robber is described as white or Hispanic with a slim build. He spoke both English and Spanish and had a tattoo on his left forearm.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the convenience store, and are asking anyone with information about the robbery or who might have seen something suspicious to call 911.
