Jody T. Stancil, 36, of Canton, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jody was born and raised in Canton and was a graduate of Cherokee High School Class of 1999 where he was well known for his participation as the Mascot and Homecoming King. Jody was a fun loving simple man; he was the “Life of the Party." His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Stancil; grandparents, Tom and Ilene Stancil and Gene and Ruth Blalock. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Debbie and Butch Payne; siblings, Sean, Austin, Merrisa, Kaitlin and Tori; grandparents, Joe and Mimi; special friends, Jeremy, Wesley and Shane; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and many beloved friends.
