New K-9 Joins Cherokee Sheriff's Office

Maggie is a Bloodhound that will be used for tracking missing children and adults as well as suspects who flee on foot from deputies.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is welcoming its newest four-legged deputy into its ranks.

K-9 Maggie is the first Bloodhound donated to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office by the Georgia Department of Correction.

Maggie, who is 18 months old, will be primarily responsible for tracking. Sheriff's Office spokesperson Jay Baker said deputies will also use Maggie to locate missing children and adults, and suspects who flee on foot from law enforcement.
