Scholarship Helps Single-Parent Chattahoochee Tech Students

The $1,000 annual scholarship is sponsored by 10 Women of Hope, a Cobb County-based nonprofit organization.

MARIETTA, GA — An endowed $1,000 scholarship opportunity to be awarded annually is now available for single-parent students at Chattahoochee Technical College thanks to an endowment provided by Cobb-based nonprofit 10 Women of Hope.

“We are so grateful for this group’s generous support of single-parent students at Chattahoochee Technical College,” said Chattahoochee Tech Advancement Coordinator Amanda Henderson. “The mission of 10 Women of Hope ties right into the mission of the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation to make a positive impact that can change lives.”

The endowment was granted to the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation, which supports the college by working diligently to help make higher education an affordable reality for students at Chattahoochee Technical College.

“This new scholarship at Chattahoochee Tech could not be possible without the previous support and donation from Re-Connecting with Families,” said Penny Warren of 10 Women of Hope. “This money originally was earmarked to honor a great lady in our community – Joan R. Murphree, a longtime guidance counselor at Marietta High School. She helped so many young people, and we want to honor her legacy with this new scholarship.”
