Here are the top five stories in Canton-Sixes today:
- A man suspected of drug trafficking outside a Walmart was fatally shot Monday night by members of a Cherokee County narcotics squad. Around 7:30 p.m. that evening, the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad was conducting an undercover operation at the superstore when they encountered the suspect, 35-year-old Normiez Reeves. While attempting to flee the area, Reeves collided with an agent's vehicle and drove towards agents, at which point the agents fired at and struck him. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- The City of Canton is currently seeking a marketing intern to assist in launching its first marketing destination website. The marketing intern will be responsible for supporting website development and execution, writing social media and email copy, assisting in content creation, and analyzing marketing initiatives.
