“Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape” is the theme that the NFPA selected for this year’s campaign and is meant to reinforce the importance of creating a fire escape plan and practicing it with every member of the household regularly.

This year’s Tailgate with a Firefighter event drew hundreds of people to The Mill on Etowah where the public had the opportunity to tour fire apparatus, play games, practice escaping from a fire safety house, and eat from a souvenir fire helmet. These activities took place while college football played on the big screen on the green.
