Truck Overturns, Dumps Trash On I-575 In Canton
Thousands of pounds of trash spilled onto the road early Thursday when the tractor trailer overturned near Exit 16, Canton police said.

CANTON, GA — The driver of a tractor trailer suffered minor injuries when the big rig overturned early Thursday on Interstate 575 in Canton.
Officers responded to the accident just after 3:30 a.m. Nov. 8 on the northbound side near the exit ramp of the Ga. 140 interchange. Officers arrived to find several thousands pounds of trash had been "released from the truck container during the accident," said Police Chief Mark Mitchell.
Officers had to close the interstate while Georgia Department of Transportation H.E.R.O. units and a wrecker service were called in to remove the truck and trash from the highway.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation and the roadway reopened to traffic just before 8 a.m., Chief Mitchell said.
"We would like to thank the GDOT and wrecker service for their assistance with this situation," he added.
