- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is looking for two men wanted for violation of the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Christopher Shane Lawrence, born in 1970, is described as a white male, 5-foot-8 and 206 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. The picture on the registry, however, shows him as balding with grey hair. Brent Allen Hildebrandt, born in 1971, is described as a white male, 5-foot-11 and 275 pounds with grey hair and hazel eyes. Lawrence is listed as an absconder on the registry. If you have any information on their locations, please call 9-1-1. (Cherokee Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
- A Canton man has been arrested and is being housed at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, charged with breaking into cars around the area. James Norton is suspected of breaking into several vehicles on March 30 at Bill Holt Mitsubishi on Marietta Highway , again the next day around River Walk Court and another at Publix at Laurel Canyon on April 3. Detectives were able to identify the alleged perpetrator when surveillance videos at the car dealership and around Canton captured his motorcycle. (Atlanta News First)
