Here are the top five stories in Canton-Sixes today:
- On Friday, the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision, ruling that individual states may outlaw abortion. According to the Guttmacher Institute, Georgia could potentially ban abortions after six weeks, when a fetal heartbeat is typically detected. The state has also implemented the "Heartbeat Law" as of 2019; the fetus' viability, as well as the patient's health, must be determined on an individual basis by a doctor. (Georgia Patch)
- The Historic Canton Theatre's Jun. 30 showings of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" are now on sale. Showings are available at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, with tickets for each costing only $1. Grab yours in advance here before they sell out. (City of Canton GA)

- North Georgia Health District’s Restaurant and Lodging Inspection has posted its most recent scores for restaurants in the Canton-Sixes area. Four Canton restaurants' scores were publicized for the period between Jun. 15-21. Nuevos Amigos topped the list with a 97, followed by Waffle House with a 96; Starbucks received an 87, with Bridgemill Pool Concession scoring a 74. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
