5 Hospitalized, 50 Displaced In Clarkston Blaze: Reports
A DeKalb County blaze damaged 32 units in an apartment complex, sending three children and two adults to the hospital with injuries.
CLARKSTON, GA — A massive fire led to five people being hospitalized and caused 50 people to lose their homes Monday evening in Clarkston, media reports say.
The blaze damaged 32 units at the Clarkston Oaks apartments complex in the 700 block of Northern Avenue, both WAGA-TV and WXIA-TV reported.
One of the residents told reporters it was around 8:45 p.m. when they noticed a small flame and an apparent explosion at the time of the fire.

DeKalb County Battalion Chief Patrick Holcomb said flames were coming through the roof when crews arrived, reports say.
Of the five people hospitalized, a child reportedly suffered minor injuries, and two others suffered smoke-related injuries. Two adults were also being treated at the hospital, and a fourth child was treated at the scene, WXIA reported.
