• Toccoa Native Promoted to GBI's Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO). (921wlhr.com) — A Georgia Bureau of Investigation leader who once served at the Region 8 Investigative Office in Cleveland has been promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office. His new role oversees multi-county drug investigations across North Georgia, drawing on years of experience that included four years handling general cases from the Cleveland office.
   

• Carol Pritchett Prescott (barnesville.com) — Longtime community volunteer Carol Pritchett Prescott, who lived in Cleveland beginning in 1985 and stayed active in church and local service, has passed away at age 82. Her family notes there will be no immediate service due to health and travel concerns, but a graveside service is planned later in Wrightsville, and friends can share memories through an online guest book.
