Here are the top three stories in Columbus today:

  1. The Columbus Police are investigating a possible drive-by shooting that occurred on Monday, May 15. Two people, a 36-year-old female and a 27-year-old male, were taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional to be treated for their injuries. According to police, the female was shot in the thigh and a 27-year-old male was shot in the side. As of Monday morning, both were in stable condition. (WRBL)
  2. Beginning Jun. 2, Colgay Pride will be hosting a multi-day celebration for pride month, with LGBTQ+ friends pride. The free events include a pride pageant, showcase singers, music from local artists, poetry by Lade Breez, food, vendors, Monkey Pox vaccinations, an awards ceremony, and more. The events, located at 1100 Broadway in Uptown Columbus, begin at 6:00 p.m. on Jun. 2 and 10:30 a.m. on Jun. 3. (WTVM 9)
  3. A local mother and her premature baby spent Mother’s Day in the NICU at Piedmont Columbus Regional, their ninth holiday in the hospital. Five-month-old Esther Grace Ann Hicks was born three months early, weighing just one pound, and with a 20 percent chance of survival. Alexandria Hicks, Esther's mother, shared lessons from this trying time, including, "I have learned that it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to not have it together because there’s always a time tomorrow to try again.” (WTVM 9)
