Kemp has begun openly criticizing Trump and believes Trump's focus on grievances and the 2020 election will repel voters. Alex Johnson, president of the right-wing Georgia Republican Assembly, has proposed to ban candidates who have wronged Trump in the past, do not adhere to the strict right-wing party faction ideas, or show "insufficient purity on abortion or taxes." According to this proposal, the state convention would vote to ban candidates from the Republican primary ballot. (KOB 4)
- The Miss Georgia Scholarship Competition check-in will be held this weekend in Columbus at the same time as the state-wide GOP Convention.
