"Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Gusty winds, especially during the evening, will make it feel even colder," weather officials said in the alert.
Residents are encouraged to wrap, drain or slowly drip pipes to avoid freezing and bursting of the pipes. In-ground sprinklers should be drained, and above-ground pipes should be covered.
