  1. On Wednesday, May 31, Mayor Skip Henderson will hold a “Let’s Talk Columbus!” townhall forum to "provide the current status of the city," for citizens to ask city officials questions, and for citizens to come together and discuss their city. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the city council chambers at the Red McDaniel City Services Center. Any citizens who cannot make the meeting in-person can email their question to MayorsOffice@ColumbusGA.org and view the forum on the CCG-TV channel, YouTube, and the Mayor’s Facebook page. (WTVM 9)
  2. Columbus Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on 150 block of 31st Avenue in Columbus on May 23. The female victim traveled to the Circle K on the corner of Wynnton Road and Brown Avenue and was then taken to the hospital. She is reportedly in stable conditionafter being treated for multiple gunshot injuries. (WTVM 9)
  3. Chairman David Shafer announced a third Republican presidential candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, will speak at the state convention at the Convention & Trade Center in Columbus. Ramaswamy will speak on Jun. 9, former President Donald Trump will speak on Jun. 10, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson will attend the Victory Breakfast on Jun. 10. According to Shafer, at least two more presidential candidates are considering attending as well. But several top Georgia Republicans will not attend including Gov. Brian Kemp, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, and Attorney General Chris Carr. (WRBL)

  • On May 23, the Crunch Franchise announced its new $5 million Columbus location will open in the fall. Crunch Columbus will be located at 2925 Manchester Expressway, a newly renovated 45,000-square-foot fitness facility that was previously occupied by Best Buy. (PR Newswire)
  • Authorities are searching for 17-year-old Faith Honesty Allen, who went missing after being released from the Henry County Jail. Her mother believes Faith is in the Columbus area. The teen is considered critically missing and anyone with information should contact Detective L. Smallwood at 678-782-6309. (WTVM 9)
