🌱 MCSO Retrieves Stolen Weapons, Drugs + Phenix City Mayor's Ball

  1. On Friday, Jun. 23 in South Columbus, the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office successfully recovered two stolen weapons and seized drugs following a complaint about illegal activities. When law enforcement arrived, the suspects noticed their presence and promptly dropped their weapons before fleeing the scene. Deputies managed to retrieve two of the four reported stolen firearms. The case is currently ongoing and being investigated. (WTVM)
  2. Approximately 900 individuals gathered at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center for the 10th annual Phenix City Mayor's Ball on Jun. 24, which aimed to raise funds for students' education. The event, which was held at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center, successfully raised over $184,000, an increase of 11 percent compared to the previous year. Mayor Eddie Lowe emphasized that the ball goes beyond the glamorous atmosphere and serves as a means to support students in need of financial assistance, granting around 40-50 scholarships to Phenix City students. The guest speaker, Joseph Sikora, known for his role on the TV show "Power," highlighted the importance of providing opportunities and inspiring hope among the youth, encouraging them to pursue their passions and reminding them of their potential for success.
