- This weekend, former President Donald Trump will make his first official campaign appearance at the Georgia Republican Party's annual convention in Columbus. Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake will speak on Friday, Jun. 9, and Trump will speak on Saturday, Jun. 10. Lt. Gov. Burt Jones will be in attendance, but Gov. Brian Kemp will not. (Atlanta News First)
- Scofflaw Brewing Company is now open at Midcity yards in Columbus! The 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space includes a brewing facility, tasting room, music, and games including ping pong and cornhole. Dogs are welcome and customers can bring food from Moe’s Original BBQ, which is right across from Scofflaw. Local Tesa Dee Young said, "We’re super excited. It’s such a great space, and we love how they have all these games and stuff for kids." (WTVM 9)
- On Jun. 1, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office arrested Adam Culpepper on multiple outstanding felony arrest warrants, including felony aggravated assault. Officers found 6.7 grams of crack cocaine, a handgun, digital scales, and cash on the premises while arresting Culpepper. He was additionally charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Additional charges are pending and the case is still under investigation. (WTVM 9)

- The Georgia GOP convention in Columbus is expected to generate almost $1 million in revenue for the city. Columbus officials hope the attention will bring additional opportunities as well. (Ledger-Enquirer via Twitter)
- Columbus ranked number four on national charts for the highest percentage of small-black owned businesses. Local business entrepreneurs like Pedal Pub Columbus owner Antwane Darby stated it is equally important to maintain the title. (WTVM 9)
