  1. A local man was killed in a crash in Morris, Illinois early Monday morning. Officials with the Morris Police Department said Cumming resident 32-year-old Narciso Vela struck the rear end of a double-semi truck at a high rate of speed while traveling Route 47. He was transported to Loyola Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. (wcsjnews.com)
  2. Forsyth County election officials have finalized advanced voting times and locations for the 2024 general election cycle. Residents participating in advanced voting will have the ability to do so at five locations from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends. An extra hour was added to site availability on weekdays to enable more citizens to vote after work. (Appen Media)
  3. A south Forsyth gun range reopened on Monday after a two-alarm fire erupted on the premises. Officials said the blaze damaged the space above one of the shooting areas at the range. The business reportedly reopened just one day after the fire occurred. (Forsyth County News via Instagram)
  4. Registration is now open for fall soccer leagues with the Forsyth County YMCA.
