- Forsyth County announces no changes to property tax rates for Maintenance & Operations, Bond, and Fire, thanks to increased tax dollars from a 9.58% growth in the tax digest. Among the lowest in metro Atlanta, proposed rates will fund the 2024 budget. Three public hearings are scheduled for citizen input, with the final millage rate adoption on Jul. 20. - On Jul. 2, local bakery Dutch Monkey Doughnuts hosted its 12th doughnut eating contest at its South Forsyth location to raise money for cancer research. The competition was divided into four age groups: 0 to 5 years, 6 to 10 years, 11 to 17 years, and Adults. Dutch Monkey awarded a trophy to the top fundraiser in each division, and the top eater in each heat received a medal. All entry fees and concession sales benefitted the Rally Foundation.
