Cheney Recovering from Heart Transplant

National Public Radio is reporting that former vice president Dick Cheney is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia following a heart transplant.

Cheney has had five known heart attacks and underwent bypass surgery in 1988. He also had a pacemaker implanted in his chest in 2001. He is reported to have been on the transplant list for more than 20 months.

The former vice president reportedly does not know the identity of the donor.
