- The Cumming Family Health Center, affiliated with Georgia Highlands Medical Services, has undergone major renovations with the aim of improving the patient and staff experience. Leaders of the organization invited community members to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony last Thursday, May 11. Attendees toured the updated facility and even enjoyed free treats and sandwiches in the new reception area. (Forsyth County News Online)
- The Traffic Unit of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) was honored at last week's 2023 M.A.D.D. Annual Awards banquet. In addition to multiple members of the unit receiving Golden Shield and Silver Shield Honors awards, DFC Deandre Loucks took home the MADD DUI Hero Award, and FSCO won both HEAT Unit of the Year and Agency of the Year. In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office congratulated the Traffic Unit and expressed pride in their efforts to keep Forsyth County safe. (Forsyth County Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
- The Forsyth County Public Library is seeking submissions for an amateur photo exhibition. The exhibition, centered around the theme "Together We...," will be displayed at the Sharon Forks Library through June and July. Submissions are due no later than May 28, with each applicant receiving feedback from a professional photographer. (Forsyth County Public Library)
- A Cumming-based company made Becker's Hospital Review's list of "280+ telehealth companies to know." Krixi Corp. was recognized for its security and scalability, as well as its patient outreach platform that assists medical providers in tracking patient-reported outcomes.
