Cumming is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Cumming has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.

A few things to know:

  • Did you know that Cumming, GA was originally named after Colonel William Cumming, a Georgia native and distinguished officer in the War of 1812? The town was officially made the Forsyth County seat in December 1834, amid the Georgia gold rush of the 1830s-1840s.
