- Following the disclosure by Peachtree Orthopedics on May 12 regarding a data breach, an investigation was launched to address the incident. The orthopedic center revealed that unauthorized access by a hacker may have compromised sensitive personal and financial data, posing a significant risk to consumers. In the event that you receive a notification from Peachtree Orthopedics regarding the exposure of your information, it is important to be aware that you have legal recourse to safeguard yourself against identity theft and fraudulent activities. - The Georgia State Legislature is currently reviewing HB 364, a bill aimed at granting compensation to individuals who have been wrongfully convicted and imprisoned. The bill has gained attention due to the amendments proposed by Cumming Republican Senator Greg Dolezal. These amendments seek to raise the compensation amount from $60,000 to $120,000 per year of wrongful incarceration. The bill is currently awaiting deliberation in the Georgia State Senate. - A confrontation between a large group of teenagers and young adults at Fowler Park in Forsyth County escalated when someone brandished a knife and injured another individual. In response, one of the young adults drew a gun and demanded that the person with the knife relinquish it. Two individuals were subsequently arrested.
