Here are the top five stories today in Cumming:
- Forsyth County deputies clocked a driver going more than 100 miles per hour over the speed limit this weekend. Officials say a Ferrari was spotted driving 178 miles per hour heading southbound out of the county, but they did not indicate whether the driver was arrested or given a citation. In the state of Georgia, drivers caught "super speeding" receive an additional $200 fine on their traffic citations. (WSB-TV)
- In case you missed it: One of the black bears reportedly spotted in Forsyth County last week was found in the backyard of a Cumming home last Wednesday night. Local resident Lea Anne Campbell shared footage from her family's home security camera, which caught the bear on the property of their Providence Plantation residence. Georgia's Department of Natural Resources reminds anyone who spots the black bears to call the Game Management office at (706) 557-3350. (11 Alive)
- Forsyth County Schools will be hosting a job fair on Jun. 13. Stop by the Academies of Creative Ed. Cafe between 8:30 a.m. and noon to explore available positions. Current openings within the district include bus drivers, school nurses, and more. (Forsyth County Schools via Twitter)
- Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters will be available for kids during a clinic this Wednesday, Jun. 8. The clinic will be held at the Georgia Highlands Medical Plaza beginning at 1:00 p.m. Vaccines will be available for pediatric patients between 5 and 11 years old. (Forsyth County Chamber)
- Looking for a magical event meant to entertain kids of all ages? The Cumming Library will present Cameron's One Man Circus today in the Cumming Meeting Room from 11:00-11:30 a.m. Stop by to see Cameron Tomele of Barely Balanced as he performs a variety of stunts and comedy acts.
