Fire Department Announces Fire Safety Poster Contest

Forsyth County is encouraging third graders to show off their artistic talents.

Calling all Forsyth County third graders.

The Forsyth County Fire Department has announced its Fire Safety Poster Contest, encouraging third graders to display their artistic talent by promoting fire safety.

β€œThe Forsyth County Fire Department is Excited to be holding our Fire Safety Poster Contest for the fifth year,” Division Chief Jason Shivers said. β€œEach Year we receive outstanding entries and we are looking forward to the same again this year.”

The contest is open to all third grade students in the Forsyth County public and private schools and home-schooled students.

Posters should reflect these themes:

  • Practice your home fire drill
  • Check the door for heat
  • Get down low and crawl under smoke
  • Firefighters are your friends


Three winners will be chosen, and winning students will be awarded a pizza party with their classmates and local firefighters. The winners and three runners up will also have their artwork displayed in county buildings.

Artwork submitted must be an original design by the student. No clipart and copyrighted characters or logos will be accepted. Posters should be created on paper as small as 8.5” by 11” and as big as 18” by 24”. Posters created on poster board will not be accepted.
