  1. The Forsyth Community Clinic opened on May 5 on Mary Alice Park Road in Cumming. The clinic is offering free services to eligible Forsyth County residents who do not have health insurance. Last October, the clinic opened at a temporary location at The Place of Forsyth. (Forsyth County News Online)
  2. Cumming restauranter Michael "Mike" Evans Reeves has died at 69. According to an obituary, Reeves was the founder of the popular Cumming pizza restaurant Mellow Mushroom which has locations across the U.S., in addition to other companies. the Excelsior Mill, and the Peanut Palace. A service honoring Reeves is planned for May 13 in nearby Sandy Springs. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. Forsyth County School District will replace itslearning with Canvas as its new learning management system starting in August 2023. Like itslearning, teachers will have individual courses, while students will continue to use ClassLink to access the app. Parents can also access observer accounts to view their children's courses. Itslearning will be used until June 30, 2023.(Forsyth County Schools)
  4. Lane closures on sections of SR 400 should be expected today as a new road resurfacing project is underway. The asphalt work will occur near Exit 18, give or take a few miles north and south throughout the duration of the project. Forsyth County commuters should plan travel accordingly as this project is expected to continue until October. (Forsyth County Georgia Government via Facebook)
  5. Cumming Family Chiropractic will host Mommy & Me Yoga every Thursday from May through October at 10:00 a.m. on the Cumming City Center Green. Dr. Elissa Chambers will lead the sessions, which are open to moms and their babies, with participants expected to bring their own yoga mats. Following the yoga session, participants can explore the City Center's restaurants for breakfast or coffee. (Cumming City Center via Facebook)
