Forsyth Among 5 GA Districts Awarded By AP

The College Board said the district is "simultaneously expanding opportunity and improving performance" on AP coursework.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA β€” Forsyth County Schools was among five school districts in Georgia to make the College Board's 10th annual AP District Honor Roll, according to a release from the Georgia Department of Education.

AP District Honor Roll is awarded to districts which are in creasing access to advanced placement coursework while maintaining, or increasing, the percentage of students scoring a 3 or above on AP exams.

"Our number-one focus is on expanding opportunities for students in Georgia’s public schools," said Richard Woods, Georgia's superintendent in the release. "I commend these districts as they expand access to advanced coursework for their students, while maintaining a high standard of performance," he said.

The College Board said the award goes to districts that "simultaneously expanding opportunity and improving performance."

"With more students participating and succeeding in AP… more students are getting a head start on college by earning college credit during high school," Trevor Packer, senior vice president of AP instruction at the College Board, said. "We are pleased to honor the teachers and administrators who have worked to clear a path for more students of all backgrounds to advance through AP," he said.
