- The Forsyth County Animal Shelter is full, prompting a call for residents to adopt animals. Adoption rates have dropped by 10 percent compared to last year, with 312 adoptions since January. The shelter currently holds over 180 cats and 50 dogs for adoption, and it's offering a fee-free adoption event named "Summer of Love" until Sep. 7, including microchipping, vaccinations, and spaying/neutering. Consider the After School Academy Classes, taught by Coal Mountain Elementary teachers, offering fun and exciting activities for students to enjoy with friends. The classes run from 2:30-3:50 p.m., cost $50 for a four-week session, and have five sessions in a year. The company's president, James Doyle, presented the donation to Tommy and Amanda Duckworth. This generous donation from the Forsyth County business supports the mission of Love Kaleb, Inc. - On Monday, Aug. 28 the Cumming Library will hold an open forum on "extreme speeding" in Forsyth County. The Forsyth County News team is conducting an investigation into the rise of high-speed travel incidents, particularly those exceeding 100 miles per hour, following a series of related occurrences.
