Forsyth Grad Rate Tops in Metro: ICYMI

Forsyth County Schools' graduation rate is also the best in Georgia for school systems of its size, data shows.

Forsyth County Schools has the highest graduation rate among metro Atlanta’s school districts and the highest graduation rate for similarly-sized districts in the state, data released Monday reveals.

All Forsyth high schools have seen their graduation rates increase between 2014 and 2015, leading to a district-wide graduation rate of 94 percent for the Class of 2015, the data shows. Last year, the county’s graduation rate sat at 90.3 percent.

The highest graduation rate in Forsyth belongs to Lambert High School, which saw 98.2 percent of the Class of 2015 graduate. iAchieve Virtual Academy saw its graduation rate skyrocket from 67.7 to 93.5 percent between 2014 and 2015, according to the data.

Other Forysth high schools’ graduation rates are as follows:

  • Forsyth Central - 89.0 percent
  • North Forsyth - 91.1 percent
  • South Forsyth - 96.3 percent
  • West Forsyth - 95.4 percent

β€œWe are very pleased to see the significant increase in our graduation rate at Forsyth Central,” shared principal Mitch Young in a statement. β€œThe hard work being put in by teachers, counselors, parents and staff to help get our kids across the stage is paying off. However, until we get all of our students successfully graduated, we will not relax.”

Statewide, the graduation rate jumped from 72.5 percent to 78.8 between 2014 and 2015, marking the fourth consecutive year of increases in that percentage.
