- New owner DeJazz Woods is carrying on his family traditions at his Cumming-based athletics facility construction company, H. E. Hodges. He will bring his fiancΓ©, Trina Gomez on board in his leadership team. Her functions will smooth the flow of daily operations, as well as, focus on marketing, communications, branding, and lead generation. (WSIL TV)
- Last Sunday saw the finish of the first-ever "Putting Shootout" at the Tin Cup Grill. Participants included local celebrity Dax Isbell, Brock Gillespie of the National Putting Tour, and professional golfer, Randy Dart . Tin Cup Grill owner Scott Echols wants to make it an annual event. (Subscription: Forsyth County News Online)
- Cumming resident, Shane Salisbury, finishes in the top ten boaters at the Bass Fishing League Tournament held at Lake Sinclair, catching 5 bass at 13 lbs. each. Boater Flint Davis caught 5 bass at 20 lbs. each to win the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League Tournament. This was the 4th event of the season for the BFL Bulldog Division. (BassResource.com)
- On May 20, after being found sitting in his crashed vehicle, Michael Blaze Palmer of Cumming, 30, was arrested. He was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession and use of drug-related objects, following too closely, and DUI drugs. Palmer was treated on the scene by EMS personnel and transported to Morgan Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. (Morgan County Citizen)
- Cumming native and UWG shooting guard Michael Zabetakis qualified as one of the Gulf South Conference Top Ten. He is one of the top five all all-around male student athletes in the league. (Subscription: Times-Georgian)
