Help Name New Forsyth School Set for Martin Drive
Forsyth County Schools are seeking input through Nov. 8 for the name of the new elementary school south of the city of Cumming.

The Forsyth County Board of Education is seeking inputΒ from stakeholders on the name of what will be the Forsyth Schools' 21st elementary school, according to the system website.Β
The land on whichΒ the school is expected to be builtΒ is on Martin Drive, off Highway 9, one block south of McFarland.
The buildingΒ will be a one story and similar in design to the existingΒ Kelly Mill Elementary.Β

Name recommendations must provide detail with respect to the historical background orΒ significance of a suggestion, officials say.Β Names of living people are not eligible for submission.Β
All name recommendations will be reviewed by Forsyth SchoolsΒ staff and three to four possible names will be presented to feeder school Local School Councils for aΒ vote, with the final recommendation being presented to the Board of Education on Dec. 12.Β
The new school is projected toΒ be populated with students fromΒ Midway, Vickery Creek and Shiloh Point elementary schools, butΒ attendance lines will not be determined until the school's projected 2016 opening date nears.
