K-9 Deputy Catches Fleeing Suspect

Forsyth County sheriff's deputies say the dog caught the suspect so quickly that they didn't have time to alert the public that he had fled.

CUMMING, GA -- Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies are crediting one of their K9 officers for quickly running down and capturing a suspect who had fled from his fellow deputies Thursday night.

K-9 Lycan was summoned to a retail store around Peachtree Parkway and Mathis Airport Parkway after the suspect ran from investigators, the office announced on Facebook after the incident.

Lycan and his handler were able to track down the fleeing suspect and apprehend him before deputies were able to alert the public on social media.

Deputies say the investigation into the incident is ongoing and that charges are pending, they said on Facebook.

“K-9 Lycan will definitely be getting a treat for a job well done!,” the Facebook post reads.
