Here are the top five stories today in Cumming:

  1. Metavesco, a publicly-traded Web3 enterprise based in Cumming, has signed a Binding Letter of Intent to acquire a web3 Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company and its sister web3 infrastructure development lab. Ryan Schadel, the President and CEO of Metavesco, expressed excitement over the opportunity, highlighting the acquisition's potential to provide significant value to shareholders. Specific details of the acquisition are being kept confidential until the contract is finalized, with updates expected to follow as the process moves forward. (Yahoo Finance)
  2. Leadership Forsyth's Class of 2023 played a pivotal role in expanding services for young adults with disabilities at Creative Enterprises Forsyth. Volunteers from Leadership Forsyth renovated the third floor, including classrooms, an office, and a bathroom, to create a more optimal learning environment. To commemorate the completion of the project's first phase and mark the opening of the new-and-improved top floor, the organizations hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 12. 3. ARC, Inc., a Massachussets-based commercial real estate company, has purchased the CVS building on Old Atlanta Road in Cumming. The acquisition of the standalone CVS building, located across from Publix Super Market, cost $5.6 million. Said ARC President Eamon Moran, "We are thrilled to plant our flag in the Atlanta metro and eager to executive on additional opportunities there." (Boston Real Estate Times)
  4. If you have a young dancer in your life, you won't want to miss this: registration is now open for the Twinkletoes Beginner's Ballet program at the Forsyth County Family YMCA. The program, designed for children aged 2-5 and running from Jun. 8-Jul. 27, is free for families with a membership. Those who wish to register can do so online. (Forsyth County Family YMCA via Facebook)
  5. If you're planning to travel outside the metro during the week of Memorial Day (May 25-30), AAA suggests leaving early and avoiding the eastbound route from Atlanta to Augusta on Interstate 20. This year's Memorial Day travel is expected to be the third busiest in a decade, with around 42.3 million Americans hitting the road. Due to lower gas prices, long delays are expected β€” especially in major cities where regular commuters mix with holiday travelers β€”according to transportation analyst Bob Pishue. (Patch)
