  1. A new Georgia state law may impact boating activities on Lake Lanier. The law will require boats that create a wake capable of being surfed to operate at least 200 feet from other structures. The law is set to take effect Jul. 1. (Forsyth County News via Instagram)
  2. A Jeopardy contestant from Forsyth County has seen his game show winning streak come to an end. Suresh Krishnan of Suwanee lost in the episode that aired on Jun. 14 after an impressive six-game winning streak. Krishan did not attempt to answer the game's final Jeopardy question, instead opting to write a loving message for his family. (Forsyth County News via Instagram)
  3. A Forsyth County mother appeared in court Thursday after being accused of leaving her infant daughter in the woods in 2019. Karima Jiwani, 40, allegedly gave birth to the child in her car before eventually tying her newborn daughter in a plastic bag and leaving her in the woods. Jiwani requested bond when she appeared in court on Thursday but was denied. (WSB-TV)
  4. The Humane Society of Forsyth County will host its first-ever Poker Tournament next month on Jul. 15. The night will feature a $2,000 prize pool, a 50/50 raffle, food, drinks, and more. Donations will directly support the shelter, and players who preregister will receive an additional $1,000 chip for the evening. (Humane Society of Forsyth County, GA via Facebook)
