Locals Kids Swim with the Champs

The Cumming Aquatic Center played host Saturday to the Fitter & Faster Tour featuring two champion swimmers.

Lacey Nymeyer, a silver medalist at the 2008 Olympics and NCAA Woman of the Year, along with Josh Schneider, a bronze medalist at the 2010 FINA World Championships in Dubai and 2010 NCAA Champion in the 50 Free, were the guests of honor.

Swimmers from several local swim teams, including North Georgia Aquatics, spent the afternoon with Nymeyer and Schneider.

The youngsters learned, first-hand from the champs, how they trained to become competitive swimmers. They learned various swim drills, and had the opportunity to compete against the swimmers in a 25-yard race.

They were also treated to an autograph session and photo opportunity with Nymeyer and Schneider. The event was sponsored by Swim Outlet, an online specialty shop for all things swimming.
