- Dozens of Forsyth County athletes are advancing to the Class 7A track and field state championships after a successful meet last Saturday. The Lambert High Longhorns qualified the most individuals out of all Forsyth schools, with five runners earning berths in two separate events. The 7A state meet begins tomorrow, May 11, and runs through May 13 at McEachern. (Forsyth County News)
- On Tuesday, Forsyth County leaders voted to move forward with a financial study regarding a possible mixed-use development and arena near Truist Park. The 750,000-square-foot venue, known as The Gathering at South Forsyth, would feature restaurants, stores, residential units, and more in addition to the arena. Developers estimate the project will cost up to $2 billion and could lure a new NHL franchise to the area. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- A Forsyth County man was arrested last week after police say he broke into a home in order to steal firearms and financial cards. Joshua Patrick Douthit, 23, faces charges of felony burglary, first-degree forced entrance of a residence, felony fraud financial card theft, identity fraud, and more for the crimes committed in early March 2023. He is currently being held on a $31,980 bond. (Forsyth County News)

- Tuesdayβs Coffee and the Juice Box event was a huge success! This free monthly event hosted by Forsyth County Parks and Recreation connects kids of all ages with community partners such as the Forsyth County Public Library and the Forsyth County Sheriffβs Office.
