- Northside Hospital, Forsyth in Cumming has been listed as one of 78 hospitals in the U.S. for best outpatient total hip replacements, according to a press release from Healthgrades. The hospital ratings are based purely on the patient's clinical outcome after the procedure. Their data shows that hip replacements done at one of the hospitals on the list have a 76 percent lower chance of experiencing one or more complications than hip replacements done at one-star hospitals. Only two other Georgia hospitals, Piedmont Augusta Hospital and St. Josephs's Hospital of Atlanta, made the list. (Becker's Orthopedic & Spine)
- Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming is planning on opening a new location in Cumming. While the new location is not yet underway, there are already eight more developments under construction in the Atlanta Beltway area. The Woof Gang Company has experienced record growth over the past few months and has now become one of the leading pet service brands in the U.S. The location in Cumming, when open, will be able to serve the community's pets and their owners by offering grooming and spa services, gourmet food and treats, and pet toys. - A Forsyth County woman launched "Your Tech Lady" in 2020 to help senior citizens learn how to use technology that became a relied-on resource during the pandemic β and three years later, her company is still going strong. Jackie Biggs set out to use her knowledge of technology and teaching to help seniors in her community learn how to use computers and phones so they could communicate face-to-face with their families during the pandemic. Today, she is still seeing the success of her company grow by working with senior centers and assisted living homes. Her service has impacted many lives already, opening up the doors for her clients to learn new things on the internet, be more mobile through apps like Uber, and much more. (NewsBreak)
- North Forsyth alum Colby Gossett has been signed on to the Browns starting this upcoming football season. Gossett, a local alum played who appeared in all 17 games last season for the Atlanta Falcons, will be switching teams after recently signing a new contract for Cleveland. (Forsyth Sports)
- A Forsyth County man has been sentenced after being accused of possessing grenades and firearms. After an investigation and court appearance, Brett Lee Barrett has pleaded guilty to a number of charges and will face a sentence of more than 10 years in jail. (Forsyth County News)

- A Lakeside Middle School Robotics Team placed 15th in the U.S. at the 2023 VEX Robotics World Championship. The Championship took place from Apr. 30 to May 2 in Dallas, TX, and Lakeside sent several teams who did very well overall. Lakeside Lions team #4 had a great run with the highest-robotic skills score of 354 which qualified them for finals. This team ranked No. 1 in Georgia, No. 15 in the U.S., and No. 44 in the world at this age group. Congrats to all Lakeside Middle School Teams! (Lakeside Middle via Facebook)
- Forsyth County Schools is Celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week this week. The district would like to recognize all of its teachers for their support and dedication to their students.
