North Forsyth High To Celebrate Marine Corps Birthday With Cake Cutting Ceremony

The free event is open to the public and veterans and active duty military members, as well as their families and friends, are encouraged to attend.

North Forsyth High School’s MCJROTC program is set toΒ host a military-style Marine Corps Birthday and cake-cutting ceremony at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 12, to celebrate the 238th birthday of the United States Marine Corps and to honor Veteran’s Day. This is the 18th year the ceremony has been held at NFHS.

The free event is open to the public and will be held in the NFHS football stadium. Veterans and active duty military members, as well as their families and friends, wishing to celebrate the Corps’ birthday and commemorate Veteran’s Day are welcome to attend.Β

Recommended arrival time is 7 p.m. to avoid traffic.Β 

Birthday cake and beverages will be provided at the concession stand.Β

In the past the weather has been cold, so appropriate clothing is recommended.

The MCJROTC Raider Battalion will be joined by representatives from the JROTC programs of Dawson County (Army) and Gainesville (Navy) high schools.Β 

It will be the first multi-service JROTC event in this area.
