• Fire destroys Mercy Fellowship Church in Forsyth; investigation underway (fox5atlanta.com) — A devastating early-morning fire on Jan. 2 completely destroyed Mercy Fellowship Church on Dogwood Street in Cumming, leaving its sanctuary, classrooms, and offices a total loss. A Cumming police officer first spotted the blaze, and Forsyth County fire investigators are now combing the rubble with a trained dog to determine the cause while church leaders work out where upcoming services will be held.
