Pinecrest Upper School Principal Speaks at Conference

Dr. Ed Lindekugel spoke about the need for servant leadership in independent schools.

Pinecrest Academy’s Upper School Principal, Dr. Ed Lindekugel, was invited to speak at the Georgia Independent School Association (GISA) annual conference on November 2, 2015. ​The conference​ was attended by over 1,200 educators from all over the State of Georgia. Dr. John Rosemond and Dr. Tony Wagner, keynote speakers, discussed technology innovations in education and parenting practices.

Dr. Lindekugel​’s presentation, Servant Leadership in the 21st Century School, focused on the fact that practicing servant leadership is simply identifying and meeting the legitimate needs of those entrusted to one’s care. ​He stated ​that anyone can be a servant leader, whether administrator or teacher. Dr. Lindekugel identified and explained five principles of servant leadership and concluded his talk with a ​practical plan of how to carry out these principles as school leaders in the 21st century.
