Police: Teen Throws Milkshake at School Bus, Shatters Window

The 19-year-old allegedly threw a mint chocolate chip milkshake after a bet with a friend, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.

A Forsyth County school bus driver was on his afternoon route when he saw “a large green blob come out of nowhere” before his window was shattered.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Cumming teen for allegedly throwing the minty green drink at the school bus after a bet was made with a friend.

On March 3, around 4:30 p.m., Nicholas Jones, 19, of Cumming was reportedly driving northbound on Dahlonega Highway, in the opposite direction of the school bus, when he threw the mint chocolate chip milkshake at the bus.

A witness who was driving behind Jones says he had been following Jones’ vehicle since Marketplace Boulevard. The witness tells police he saw the truck “swerving all over the road” and observed the driver of the truck throwing something at the school bus before speeding off.

Jones reportedly told officials he was at Steak and Shake with a friend prior to the incident, and the cup was less than half full when he threw it at the bus. Jones says his friend made a bet he would not throw the milkshake. Jones has written a letter of apology to Forsyth County Schools for damaging the school bus.
