- The Humane Society of Forsyth County has postponed its lock-in fundraiser due to a suspected case of Bordatella. The shelter is quarantining all adoptable dogs for 14 days as a preventative measure to stop the spread of infection. Shelter officials say they hope to reschedule the event for later this year once the quarantine has expired and summer temperatures drop. (Humane Society of Forsyth County, GA via Facebook)
- Keep your kids entertained this summer with a free kids' sports camp offered by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Rising third and fifth grade children are eligible to participate in the camp, which runs from Jun. 12 to Jun. 15. - A new coworking space, THRIVE Coworking, is coming to Cumming. The facility is slated to open at 2100 Westshore Drive later this year and will offer flexible, hybrid work locations for networking with other professionals. - A Cumming resident placed in the top 50 during the Steamboat Marathon in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on Sunday. Michael Nash earned 48 place in the race with a time of three hours 46 minutes and 38 seconds. The race's top spot was claimed by 26-year-old Zachary Alhamra, whose finishing time is considered the second fastest time in the event's history. (Steamboat Pilot & Today)
- Lots of things are happening at the Cumming Library this week.
