Two Arrested on Drug Charges After Wreck
Forsyth County deputy found more drugs in his car after he brought the suspects in on marijuana possession, an incident report says.

A Dahlonega couple have been charged with multiple drug offenses after Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies discovered drugs in their car following an accident, according to an incident report.
Shandra Rose Volkman and Eric Lon Roderick are facing charges of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs past a guard line, and failure to wear seat belts, the report says.
Deputies responded to Ga. 400 just past Lake Lanier on Monday after Volkman and Roderick’s 2005 Buick Rendezvous went down an embankment, according to the report. Volkman told the deputy one of her tires blew out, and a deflated front passenger tire seemed to back up the statement.

The deputy noticed the Buick’s seat belts were buckled shut, contradicting statements from Volkman and Roderick that they were wearing them at the time of the crash. Neither Volkman or Roderick nor a a small child riding in the car were injured.
As the Buck was being loaded onto a wrecker, the deputy noticed “a vacuum seal type bag with a green substance that I believed to be marijuana” inside the car and retrieved it. When he determined it was in fact marijuana, he arrested Volkman and Roderick.

The deputy transported the pair to the Forsyth County jail, and handed them off to jail staff. According to the report, when the deputy returned to his car he discovered 18 small Oxycodone pills in a baggie and another baggie of methamphetamine in the back seat.
Volkman was still behind bars as of Friday morning, Forsyth County jail records show. Roderick has bonded out of jail.
