- Join The Georgia Council for "The Walk For Recovery" on Sunday, Apr. 23 at The Cumming City Center. The walk, scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., is free and under one mile. There will be musical guests, face painting opportunities, kona ice, and more. (Jeff Breedlove via Twitter)
- Award winning novelist Chitra Divakaruni is set to speak and sign books at the Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 18. The event celebrates "One Amazing Thing" by Chitra Divakaruni as the Forsyth Reads Together's 2023 book selection. The event is intended for adults and admission is free, but advance registration is requested. (Forsyth County Public Library)
- In case you missed it: as of this past Tuesday, Forsyth County Commissioners have given their approval for the county to take control of Mary Alice Park in Cumming. The approval was made as part of an agreement for a local option sales tax (LOST) split between the city and county over the next ten years. The move comes ahead of a process to de-annex the park from the city to the county, which is expected to take some time. (Forsyth News)
