Weather Upate: How Much Snow Will Fall on Cumming, and When?
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday.

The Cumming area could get more than 4 inches of snow in Wednesdayβs winter storm, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
The weather service forecasts Buford will get between 3 and 5 inches of snow by the time the storm system leaves town (see attached forecast map above). Some places could get more.
Rain and snow will fall after noon, becoming all snow after 4 p.m., the weather service said, dropping 1 to 2 inches during the daytime. Another 2-4 inches could fall tonight.

Wednesday Afternoon: Rain and snow. High near 38. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Wednesday night: Snow, mainly before 3 a.m. The snow could be heavy at times. Patchy fog before 11p.m., then patchy fog after 2 a.m. Low around 30. East wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Thursday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 7am. Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
