WEATHER UPDATE: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect Monday Evening

Winter weather may hit Cumming as early as Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

A Winter Weather Advisory issued for the Cumming area has been revised to begin at 9 p.m. Monday and last until 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Cumming residents may see a mix of light snow, sleet and freezing rain during this time, changing to rain by midday Tuesday. The end result will be a dusting to less than an inch of accumulation.

The NWS says motorists should be prepared for slick roadways and travel difficulties.

Expect another chance for rain and snow Wednesday, according to the forecast.
