Who Has the Sweetest Ice Tea in Cumming? Slope's BBQ

We wrap up the month of March and this week's Cumming Patch Readers' Choice with a new winner. We asked you to decide which place in town serves up the best sweet tea?

And the winner...

The local restaurant received 31 percent of the votes in this week's poll.

Slope's BBQ is locally owned and operated by Ricky & Lisa Coppenger. Upon hearing the news that readers selected their sweet tea as the best, Ricky told Cumming Patch, "Well this is BBQ and it's in the south, we've got to have the best."

The restaurant located at 436 Canton Road just west of downtown Cumming also serves ribs, brisket, and a perennial favorite, sweet potato fries.

Coming in second was with 17 percent of the vote.

The voting was based on a combination of poll votes cast and directory reviews.

Next week, Patch is looking for the "Best Place to Do Your Taxes (at the last minute)" in Cumming! You have until 5 p.m. today to nominate your favorite.

Voting for the new poll begins at 9 a.m. on Monday.
