Witnesses to Fatal Crash Sought

Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies are searching for any witnesses to a fatal car crash which took place on Tuesday, according to the sherrif’s office’s social media.

Franklin Smith, 49 of Gainesville, died at a local hospital Tuesday afternoon after the 2006 Toyota Corolla he was driving was T-boned by a 2011 Ford Mustang as Smith tried to turn from eastbound McFarland Parkway on to the Ga. 400 northbound on-ramp just before noon, deputies said. Investigators believe Smith had the green arrow when he was hit.
