Woman Dies in House Fire: Officials

Fire crews did a search for victims inside the burning Cumming home and pulled the 78-year-old out, but she died at a local hospital.

A 78-year-old Cumming woman died from injuries she received in a house fire on Tuesday afternoon, fire officials announced Tuesday night.

Judith Parsley was pulled from her burning home in the 3000 block of Old Pruitt Road after 1:15 p.m. after fire crews carried out ”a rapid and aggressive victim search,” Deputy Chief Jason Shivers said.

Firefighters found Parsley unconscious inside the home and quickly got her outdoors, where lifesaving procedures started. Medical personnel soon arrived and rushed Parsley to Northside Hospital-Forsyth, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to Shivers.
