Woman Tried to Buy Baby on Craigslist: Deputies
Investigators said the Cumming woman was trying to purchase a baby for her 14-year-old daughter.
A Cumming mother and her 14-year-old daughter are facing charges after Forsyth County sheriff’s deputies say the mother attempted to buy a baby for her daughter online.
Elaine Williams, 47, was arrested and charged with unlawful advertisement or inducement for adoption of children for allegedly offering to buy an unwanted baby off of Craigslist, deputies said.
Deputies said that William’s alleged ad claimed mothers could drop their babies off in a “baby box” and attracted the attention of a citizen, who submitted a tip to authorities.
